HDMI Switch review

There are many producers who offer different HDMI switches in internet. I have reviewed many HDMI switches and I have read many customer reviews about even more models and am well informed. Unfortunately, these included some black sheep that either made errors by the transmission or were plainly and simply, poorly manufactured. In the HDMI switch review – that is on the entire website – I only present HDMI switches that worked efficiently during the review and exclusively received positive customer reviews!

HDMI Switch or HDMI Splitter?

An HDMI Switch has many HDMI inputs and only one HDMI output. You can decide which input, you would like for the output. It makes sense when more HDMI devices as HDMI inputs are available.

For example, an older television with only one HDMI input that should be connected to a DVD player and a satellite receiver. Instead of always having to unplug the cables, it is easier to use an HDMI switch. The DVD player and the satellite receiver are each connected to one HDMI input from the HDMI switch respectively and the television to the HDMI switch’s HDMI output. It is therefore quite easy to select if you would like to watch a DVD or watch television without having to plug and unplug cables.

An HDMI splitter has only one HDMI input but many HDMI outputs. It copies the incoming HDMI signal to the outputs. It is possible to transmit the image and the audio from an HDMI device to many monitors.

If for example, the image from the computer is to be transmitted over a monitor and a beamer, and it has only one HDMI output then it is possible to get help from an HDMI splitter. The computer is connected to the input of the HDMI splitter and connect the monitor and the beamer each to an HDMI output from the HDMI splitter. The result is that the image from the computer can be seen on both the monitor and the beamer’s screen.

If you are looking for a solution for a HDMI switch and splitter in one, then you should have a look at the HDMI Matrix. An HDMI matrix has many HDMI inputs that can be connected in parallel to many HDMI outputs. More information about the three different devices can be found in the article “HDMI Splitter vs Switch vs Matrix”.
